THE MICRO FLUTTER OF A BUTTERFLY
“Father, can I smoke while praying?
ABSOLUTELY NOT
Father, may I pray when I am smoking?
OF COURSE SON, one must pray whenever possible!”
We shall come back to this dialogue later in this article.
One spark. That’s all it takes to set a chain of events in motion. A cascade. A positive avalanche of ideas and actions.
I have a few supercharging meets regularly. One such meeting was an interview with Dorai Thodla on micro products. A one hour interaction that sparked ideas. And micro marketing.
That meeting was followed by travel and talks for the next ten days, which resulted in 40 micro ventures that I intend to embark on.
One example relating to the earlier dialogue:
One cannot take coffee inside a bookstore, for obvious reasons. One CAN take books into a coffee shop!
This was the logic behind an outlier marketing exercise ideated and executed by Krux108 with assistance from GoFloaters. What we did was to get permission from two cafes, Tea Trails and Chai Kaapi. We setup a mini book store inside encouraging people to read this books while drinking/eating, flip through and buy if they like it. Posters, tabletop invites and a vantage positioning inside the cafe.

This exercise was “unofficial”, done to test the waters and then present the results (along with ten other outlier ideas) to the founding team of NotionPress. They were pleasantly surprised and enthused by the idea. More power to them as they hear and embrace outlier ideas.
MICRO.
Think. Act. Do. Measure. Redo.
Sounds a lot like Agile marketing doesn’t it? What’s in a name?
Ideate. Execute.
Let’s churn the ocean later; for now, stir some sugar in a tea cup!
One micro flutter will set a chain of events. On a roll.
